Silhouette of Life

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” – Vicki Corona

SILHOUETTE OF LIFE

Under the sky far away
illuminated by the glow of
the setting sun where
there’s no need for words
to try to communicate.

Together we sit in awe
and wonderment
as we observe the waves of times
radiating through our souls;
people from different paths.

At the moment we forget about
gender, age and race,
about sorrow and despair.
Some are tourists, some are locals
it’s the North Shore,
the end of an island

where we’re all embraced
by the magic of the ocean’s arms
as children of the universe;
green turtles, sandpipers and humans,
trees, shrub, grains of sand.

The hour before moonrise
as the sun leisurely sets to rest,
all living becomes
a breathtaking silhouette.
