Spiritual Bridges

“Learn to light a candle in the darkest moments of someone’s life. Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance.” – Roy T. Bennett

What if I became a grain of sand,
would you be an ocean’s wave
to carry me into the starry night and
back into the dawn’s song?
What if I became a tear,
would you be the cheek
for my sorrow to roll away?
What if I were in need of your hand,
would you open your heart to help?
We can never make it
in this wide world alone.
We must be mountains
for one another to lean on.
We must be valleys
for our souls to rest.
We must be open skies
for our wings to learn to fly.
We must be spiritual bridges
for our heartbeats to meet, to melt
into the melody of life.
Otherwise, we are already dead.
