The Journey of Healing

“Be of good cheer. Do not think of today’s failures, but of the success that may come tomorrow. You have set yourselves a difficult task, but you will succeed if you persevere, and you will find a joy in overcoming obstacles. Remember, no effort that we make to attain something beautiful is ever lost.” ― Helen Keller

When you turn dust into gold,
salt into a meal,
stone into a heart of warmth,
when you begin to feel
healing like a seed will grow.
When a quest for life
becomes your winding road;
the journey of millions of steps,
the world of countless grains of sand,
when keeping on keeping on
is the only path,
even when the light isn’t yet in sight,
follow the blossom of a rose
where all droplets of sorrow dissolve
with the morning glow.
They say it will all work out.
And if it hasn’t worked out yet,
take a deep breath
and make a step
or crawl
or take a rest
and then begin again.
Remember, after every sunset
comes a new day
and a new you.
Let’s believe the legend is true.
