THE GOOD OLD DAYS
With the rising sun and a cup of coffee in my hand
I leisurely saunter into the old days…
Where the naked ground pulsated through my bare feet
and my spirit freely climbed into the crowns of trees.
When roving aimlessly in the sunflower fields
or eating fresh apples straight from the neighbor’s land
were the common ways to be.
When the view from my horse’s back
was the most peaceful view for a girl to experience,
while losing myself in her patient gaze
was a clear way to drop off worries and travel far away;
reaching inviting depths of the twin silver lakes
without limits swimming into Nature’s lap.
Those were the simpler times of innocent love and warmth,
where sincerity was found in rolling hills and wild flowers.
Seems so long ago. Where have those days gone?
Feels like galloping horses on a dirt road rushing home,
leaving a dusty cloud behind in the passing air.
…forever etched in the distance but never far from my Soul.
