Some Days

SOME DAYS

Yesterday
I was soaring the skies
flying high just like a kite
above the ocean’s waves.
Today I fell hard on my face
learning about people’s death
grizzly’s death
campers’ death
cancer’s winning streak
when children are left behind
without mother’s love to feel,
without mom to hug.
But her memory will last
in their hearts,
I hope for their sake.
I hope they will grow into
beautiful men.
Some Fridays are just sad,
today is one of them.

RIP, Erin!
