“Nothing can dim the light which shines from within.” ― Maya Angelou
TIME IS TICKING
As I watch the clock ticking in front of me,
staring into the pores of the wall on which it’s hanging,
as if to find some golden path,
dancing to a sacred melody.
But my forehead is breaking
searching for life.
only to hear tick…tock…tick.
And so, I close my eyes
watching life pass me by,
as if a silent movie were playing
for no one watching.
The raw power of now
without mercy leaving me behind.
But I don’t feel lost,
for I’m a traveling spark of light.
Some days are more eventful than others. Some days are full of wonder and some are quite forgettable. While trying to reflect, I take a look outside the window as if in search of direction. The green palm trees never fail to greet me in their tall perfection against the azure sky with the sun proudly shining on, seemingly guiding my soul. For a moment, lost in the blue vastness, I wondered why I’ve felt so alone in this wide world. Would I ever belong? Sitting in my solitude, continuing to ponder, I’ve noticed the large clock ticking my life away. I wonder no more. I already know I’m destined to be a wanderer of the inner world. I don’t belong to the norm of shallow views. I can only feel whole where the inner light shines; where love is the gentle but powerful guide, where the waters run deep and the path leads to wisdom. Where clocks don’t tell time.
